Representatives of the National Institute of Environmental Research and the South Korean Ministry of Environment were informed about German and European environmental legislation and its execution in planning practice at FUGMANN JANOTTA bdla. Using examples of various projects concerned with themes of structural landscape planning, strategic environmental assessment, intervention regulations and urban open space planning, it became clear that in Germany environmental concerns have to be considered and dealt with at all levels and in all types of specialist planning schemes. In a lively discussion the South Korean guests expressed great interest in German planning practice and saw many starting points for a better implementation of environmental concerns in the Korean planning system.
