Dreieck Späthsfelde – Public Event #3

The third public event concerning the development of the new urban quarter Dreieck Späthsfelde took place on 15 October 2025 at the Späth’schen Baumschule (Späth Arboretum). The focus of the event was the presentation of revised drafts for a structural and land-use concept by the three commissioned planning teams, including FJP in collaboration with CKSA and Hoffmann-Leichter.

These concepts had been further developed based on feedback gathered during the second event in July. Key topics included compact, land-efficient building structures, the integration of existing landscape and garden features, and the creation of a mixed-use neighbourhood with short distances, diverse housing types, and climate-resilient infrastructure. Particular attention was given to the sensitive handling of the Späth Arboretum and the adjacent allotment gardens.

Following the presentations, attendees had the opportunity to engage in an open walkabout discussion with the planning teams to provide comments and suggestions. These inputs will feed into the final evaluation by the advisory panel, which will select a preferred concept by the end of October. This concept will form the basis for an urban development framework plan starting in 2026.

The project is part of the preparatory studies in accordance with Section 165 of the German Building Code (BauGB), commissioned by the Berlin Senate since October 2024.
