On 27 November 2023, the Fürstenwalde municipal council passed a resolution to draw up a development plan. The so-called “Fürstenwalder Gartenfeld Lange Straße” is a 7-hectare site in the south of Fürstenwalde. It is being developed by Driven Investment GmbH. The plan is to construct a new residential neighbourhood on the agricultural land south of Lange Straße, with the formation of three courtyard ensembles of small-scale buildings. The plan is to build 500 residential units as rental flats, particularly for senior citizens and families. There are also plans to create needs-based social infrastructure along Lange Straße – a school with gymnasium, daycare centre – and to develop playgrounds, sports facilities and a public park. The fundamental aim is to preserve the existing local green links.
The development plan is based on the urban development and open space concept drawn up by ZOOMARCHITEKTEN and FJP. The regulatory content of the upcoming “Fürstenwalder Gartenfeld Lange Straße” development plan will now be derived from this concept.
