On 15 August 2014 the start of construction for the Park at the City Wall was celebrated in fitting style. The construction process – including the completion management – is scheduled for completion by the spring of 2015.
As part of the construction process an asphalted bicycle lane and footpath will be created along the eastern edge of the park. The predominantly water-bound park trails will be re-laid. Strips of native trees will be introduced alongside the bicycle lane and the allotment gardens. Ground-covering shrubs will complete the planting scheme. A bed of wild flowers with oval grass islands beside the strips of trees forms the principal planting scheme for the park, creating a transition into the interior lawns of the park.
