From 18 to 23 November 2024, the first innovative format of public workshop will take place in Munich. The workshop is part of the Münchner Norden feasibility study: On behalf of the city council, it will examine whether and, if so, where and to what extent the north of Munich could be further developed in terms of urban planning. The aim is to create new affordable housing, jobs, attractive green and open spaces as well as an efficient and needs-based infrastructure. This should be done in harmony with agricultural use and the protection of ecologically valuable areas and recreational areas. The people who already live there today should also benefit from this. Only around a quarter, i.e. around 220 hectares, of the approximately 900-hectare study area in the Munich north area is eligible for urban development.
The workshop, as part of the first project phase, offers everyone the opportunity to get in touch with the urban development team. The five pre-selected planning teams will develop ideas for the Münchner Norden in a kind of open competition. FJP, together with its long-standing co-operation partners UmbauStadt and HOFFMANN-LEICHTER, is delighted to be one of the five teams involved.
From 18 to 23 November 2024, the workshop Münchner Norden offers a varied programme with lectures, discussions, hands-on activities and bus tours. Registration is required for some programme items. All events are free of charge. The website of the City of Munich also offers detailed information on the Münchner Norden project and the upcoming workshop.
