Köpenick freight station – workshop and online participation

Köpenick freight station

A new, attractive and innovative urban quarter is to be created on the site of the former Köpenick freight station. In the course of planning, eight interdisciplinary teams are currently working on proposals for the urban design of the area in a two-phase workshop procedure. Together with Machleidt, Lager Schwertfeger Architekten and SHP Ingenieure, FUGMANN JANOTTA PARTNER is also participating in the competition.

The results of the 1st phase are now available for discussion. On 08.12.2022, the eight planning teams will publicly present their concept proposals at a workshop in the Merian School Köpenick. The digital presentation in the online participation will start as early as 02.12.2022. You are warmly invited to view the results of the work and to support the teams with your ideas, comments and suggestions.

After the feedback from the first citizens’ workshop, four of the eight teams will be selected for further work in the second dialogue phase of the workshop procedure. There, the teams will examine their ideas, sharpen them and formulate them more detailed. Subsequently, in May 2023, the four revised concepts will again be publicly presented and discussed in a second workshop. Taking into account the comments from the public, a team will then be selected by the advisory committee to develop the framework plan as the basis for the further development of the new urban quarter by autumn 2023.
