The agricultural development plan aims at improving the hydrological balance within the drainage basin of the river Annafließ near Strausberg. The plan focuses on stabilizing and enhancing the hydrological network, developing Annafließ into a near-natural river landscape as well as rehabilitating its ecological function within the entire drainage basin. For this purpose the hydrological structures and qualities were mapped using the LAWA-method (validation of river typologies in Germany). Additionally, the condition of all hydro-engineering constructions was assessed according to a standardized evaluation procedure.
The analysis results were incorporated into an objectives and action plan including methods for drainage basin rehabilitation, surface water management, hydrological structure improvement and rebuilding of transverse structures.
