The municipality of Jüterbog, with its historic town centre and seven village districts, is located in the Teltow-Fläming district. The former military training areas are now designated as nature reserves. As Habitats Directive sites and bird protection areas, these sites also form part of the coherent Natura 2000 network, which is likewise reflected in the biotope network of the South Brandenburg Corridor.
One key focus of the landscape plan prepared by FJP was to combine the requirements of environmental protection, nature conservation and landscape management with open-space aspects and recreational needs. The main areas of the measures planning are the grassland-dominated Nuthe lowlands, the extensive arable landscapes, the large contiguous forest and heathland areas, and the settlement areas embedded in the landscape, many of which contain listed heritage assets.
At the same time, the Jüterbog Landscape Plan formed the basis for assessing and addressing planning matters at the level of the land-use plan. The environmental report proved to be an important basis for environmentally compatible steering and served as a corrective instrument in the designation of development areas for the next 25 years.
In parallel with the landscape plan, the sectoral partial land-use plan “Wind Energy” was prepared, as was the land-use plan for the municipality of Jüterbog in cooperation with FIRU.
