The public participation related to the landscape plan took place between 07/15/2011 and 11/25/2011 and was combined to the participation process of the transport development plan. Through their political engagement the citizens were able to achieved a long disclosure period of both plans, which gave them enough time to study the documents.
For this purpose, a new website (www.bürgerpläne.de) was created enabling a convenient user interface to the comprehensive map material. The website is supposed to stay online permanently. In addition, the local community was informed during six accompanying events, where interested citizens could ask questions and contribute their ideas. In order to reach a large audience, a flyer was designed and distributed in public spaces. Moreover, it was possible to leave opinions on the website as comments but also to ask questions, which were regularly answered by the planner and which partially served as preparation for the district discussions.
